For the past couple of days my HM2DM has been acting strangely. Whether
I'm hosting a game or playing on another server, I get horrible lag
where it used to be ok. This even when I'm hosting a test game with
just myself as a client. The single player game runs fine, which leads
me to think it's a network problem.
What will happen is that really bad lag freeze, where after you come
back all your weapon icons appear on the right, and sometimes you can
hear the 'drowning sound'. This will happen randomly. Other than these
freezes network speed is good, but this freezing makes online play
impossible.
Any suggestions? I've scanned for virii and skyware, updated video
drivers. No big changes to the system in the past couple of days.
Thanks;
sudasana

Update: Disabled Zonealarm and the lag went away. Going to keep trying
this to see if it's the problem. Wierd though, never had a problem with
it before this week.

I get that occasionally as well, especially offline, so thanks for the (possible) solution

the only problem with steam updating things every week is it doesent give the developers an incentive to playtest thier work, so we do it for them

Shutting down zonealarm has completely fixed the problem, so if you
encounter similar troubles and use zonealarm, you may want to try
disabling it.
