texture would be good, some nice bump map to add texture.

I think space doors should be clean and clean looking.

you could do something advanced for the animation.

Think about if it actually existed- you'd need access panels on it to maintain it, a switch to open it and other such gubbinz. You need to make seperate models for the door and frame.

What i was gunna do is make it so you use it as a dynamic prop and you
trigger the animation to play, and this would make it better aligned in
game. Im gunna have the control panel a seperate prop so you can choose to have it or not.

Would be cool if you could rip it off the wall too...

Wouldnt be very good as an air lock door if it could be ripped of the wall :/

[edit] anyone got any tips on texturing models, because this is the
best i can come up with using textures for sites:

btw the orange is just a light i added inside 3ds max so it made the render look better.

It's too flat, make it 'sink in' perhaps, and jazz up the scanner! Wires and pipes and moving parts will also = win.

Hmm, I was kinda thinking the door would be more white, like the ship from the beginning of Star Wars ep. 4.

It's all good, but I agree with lep. Sexify it a bit. And I don't like the brick texture at the bottom.
