doom 2 storyline

Hey all,

For all of you people that have played the doom series, you'll know that id didn't make much of a storyline for the enemys. So I've been doing so guess work and I this is what I think. If you have read the doom novel it says that the teleporters were already built when the humens came and that it's creaters were nowere to be found. I think that the spider mastermind and the arachnotrons are a totally differant race and that they built the teleporters used them and wound up in hell. At that point they ether were zombiefied of (most likely) they teamed up with the demons to invade earth, in egchange for there technology the demons would provide there man power. The aliens built genetic creations for the battle feld (mancubus, cyberdemon) and waited for some idits to re-open the portals for there attack. Now I know that there are alot of misspellings, that is becouse I'm in a huge hurry sorry.

So either give me feedback or state your opinion on the monster's history. :smile:

There is no background story to Doom2, apart from:

Hellspawn from another dimension break loose on Phobos, and one badass kills them all. It helps that he can run at 60mph in a straight line and 80mph diagonally.

Make up whatever story you like.

The plot for Doom 2 is that Hell decided to invade Earth. Everyone has been evacuated except you (seeing you did such a good job last time), and it's up to you to kill 'em all.

And Gollum, that sounds a lot like the original Doom -- Doom 2 wasn't set on Phobos, while the first chpater of Doom was set on phobos (the second and third were on deimos and hell respectively)

Yes I know about the reg storyline. I mean I story behind the senes just how did the two races get together?

Mmmm no I don't think the legions of hell are likely to 'team up' with someone :razz: I thought that men created the portals which led to hell; if not hell 'itself' then an alien world yes, but it's going to be just one race...

As far as I can tell, there were the legions of Hell, and Man. Weren't the Arachnotrons and Spider Masterminds in Hell?

And according to the game, man developed teleportation technology. It was just so unstable, that the legions of Hell managed to get through.

Bah, Phobos/Deimos/Hell - what's the difference? They all look the same, and it's still essentially the same wafer-thin plot :wink:

All I know is that Hell on earth breaks out and you play Mr.Badass :arse: with the shotgun, machinegun :ar15firing: , and the chainsaw and I see that this chainsaw in this smilie is the actual sprite taken directly from doom. Nice :biggrin:
