I personally think that area protals are outside the scope of the tutorial and should be left out. They are well worth their own tutorial and don't deserve to be just tacked onto the end of an unrelated article, it would confuse people.
Just wanted to add to this tutorial that prop_door_rotating entities can only be used for doors rotating around the z-axis - Jeff Lane from Valve confirmed that this is by design and its not a bug. If you want a prop to act like a door but rotate on a non-z-axis, then create a func_door_rotating covered in toolsskip texture and set it up as you like, then create a prop_dynamic that has the func_door_rotating as its parent.
Unfortunately the hinge specifier was not working last I checked and he confirmed that this is a problem and would be looked into.

I've added a prop_door_rotating to my map with the refridgerator door model, but wherever I put the origin it continues to rotate around the middle (which looks kind of stupid :). How do I change the point of rotation for this entity?

Nice tut. I agree with ReNo, don't add portal information, this tutorial is best in its current state.
As for the two questions (SciBoy and WatchDog) I'm not sure I understand your problem: Is the door rotating around the middle of its body or is the door rotating more than 90 degrees?

Nice tutorial!
By the way, most of the doors that were used in HL2 are actually inside this model, you just have to change the skin of the model.
