This is a a discussion topic for the map "dm_seVus | map by Pig Popper" by pig Popper which can be found here

Map description:

This map was created as an entrant for hl2dm University mapping competition.
"small enough ofr 1v1, large enough for 4v4"
In this map I focused on fluidity, there is a degree of symmetry in this maps layout, although i hope not too obvious. Action takes place around a central area a rotating structure; to the sides corridors lead off on both to upper and lower levels whcih reconnect back onto the main play area..

Hi Popper, quickly I'll point out there's a spelling error in your map name :flail:

Besides that I'll just advertise that I really enjoyed this map, visuals are excellent, gameplay rocks.

I'll just start off by saying I love the atmosphere! The green Combine lighting, and the shades of yellow to go along with it make it quite scrumptious to run around in. The rotating room in the center is quite a ncie touch, and I think you pulled it off quite elegantly.

-The floor textures and thought to layout of trim textures and the like makes this map look exceptional. each space seems well-defined by such simple attention to detail; -This is something I think other mappers could learn from.

-The round windows give a nice fresh view into other rooms, even though the views outside seem rather empty.

There was a nice door detail where you added a succession of fences to mark its importance, -very nice!

-Even the simple rotation of the radiator prop model seems to give some indication of thought to atmosphere when constructing this map. Little details like that I wish other mappers would pick up on. I think you've built a very well detailed map here. I could go on, but I don't want to ramble about things you already know. You're obviously an experienced mapper and it shows here. Congratz!

My only big crit is that even though there is a nice dome of clouds moving above the map, I wish there was something to look out into. i don't have a sense of surrounding while playing this map. -Where is it located?

-Nice map! 5 stars! :k1tt3h:

I like this map very much. There's a certain visual style here with the thicker bold brush style, in tandem with the layout and lighting. As you may be aware I'm a big fan of curvy/symmetrical style maps, and this one has a good feel to it. Not much in the way of crits, would just seem like nit-picking. I think you did an awesome job with the soundscape, and I agree that there needs to be something out the windows. Other than that it's just good HL2 dm!. Nice job.
