Hi guys, long time no see ^^

I started a course in ICT two weeks ago and for one project we have to make a Portfolio website.
I know the basics of HTML, but I am far away from being able to build a fully functioning website,
so other than the following question I may have more questions later.

Now, to the question: I've added some buttons as a column for navigating to other pages of the website on the left. Now I'd like to add some text to the right of those buttons,
without having the buttons change position. How do I make the column on the left to be seperate of the rest of the website? So that other objects do not interfere with the structure of the buttons.

That's it, its probably very simple to most of you but remember I've never built a website from scratch.

Thanks in advance!

I got it, I had to implement this code:
<div id="menu" style="background-color=000;height:0px;width:0px;float:left;">
Anything after this code, until </div> will be positioned on the left.

I'm glad you found a solution.

If you don't use this already, W3C Schools is a great resource for syntax and element usage http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/default.asp

And, of course, they have more than just CSS, http://www.w3schools.com/
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
