I am trying to make a xen plant light, but for some reason it barely glows at all, even though i turned the FX amount all the way up to 255, is there something im missing?

I don't think FX amount effects the amount of light something gives off...I don't know the exact fields that are in a xen plant light, but if it's a brush based object, you could make it use textured lighting.

um, I'm probably not the best to ask these...but if you're looking for something like that...it's an entity based light.

Xen plantlights should target a pointbased light entity in the vicinity of the head of the light. Have the plantlight target the light and the on/off things should work automatically.
A texture light will not work with a plantlight.
The FX things for the plantlight effect the model itself and the glow sprite that will appear on the tip.
