I want to make stains (midew or rusty or whatever) coming from a drain on an upper level in my map. What is the best way to go about this. I have tried fooling around with decals a bit but its not what Im looking for I don't think. A small tut or step by step guiode would help me alot. Thx in advandce.

Well, there's several ways. You can get a texture and line it up properly. You can use decals.
OR, you can use overlays (new). They're pretty easy to use. Just select the texture you wish to overlay, the click the overlay button (left hand side, unless you moved it, below 'apply texture'). Then you can manipulate the image in the 3d view and such.
It's quite useful.

Yes I was aware of that tutorial but forgot about it. Thank you for pointing that out.
