Hey, I'm just wondering which entity to use if i want something like an
elevator door, where two brushes move outwards from their start point.

If it's easy enough to answer in one or two sentences anyway, what's the difference? Sure it's annoying, but it doesn't take THAT long to answer. Though it does encourage more of the same... On that note, we should have a sticky on here with all the (good) tutorial sites people can find.

Well, seeing as how you make us search for something before posting a
topic, I DID search, and didn't find much of anything in the way of
explaining things. I searched again just now in case I missed
something, but to no avail.
If you could just answer my question, that'd be great. Getting angry at
me is kind of off-base, regardless of how many of these questions you
get. By the same token, maybe you should make more basic tutorials, or
a FAQ for these sorts of things, ya know? Would sort out those noob
questions.

Did you miss my answer or do you need more detail?

I never implied that you did, and never will...

It was his first post, he's not versed in the ways of the snarkpit and doesn't know any better.
He was clearly going
about solving his problem the wrong way. If he knew that he meerly had
to use two seperate doors with the same trigger then there wouldn't
have been a problem. He was searching for an entity which doesn't exist.
Those are my two valid reasons
for replying to him. It seems however that your opinion overrides mine,
for you spared not a moment to consider that I may have had reasons.
Learn to tame your emotions, it's unbecoming.

Ok...there are BRUSH entities and there are POINT entities. Point entities, like light, are used with the Entity Creation Tool. Brush entities, like doors, are created with the Block Creation Tool, and then right-clicking it and choosing Tie To Entity.

Dave,
new or not, tis no reason IMO, if they cannot figure out a simple search, how will they graduate to more complex things like doors?
my emotions have nothing to do with this, tis a main reason why i blow so much, because its others emotions driving the action.
you knew i would be upset, or better, you knew I WAS upset, yet you chose to only retaliate, instead of backing off a moment and saying, "oops"
you expressed your opinions well enough, you deal with the little s**ts, I've had enough editing questions to last me a while.
you wanna place me in the bad side, so be it.

I could put thought into a well-crafted reply, expressing why exactly I
felt I did the right thing but it be left trampled by your parade of
righteousness. I think this sums up my feelings perfectly:
This is my last reply on the issue. I refuse to engage in such a childish argument. I pray you do likewise.

This argument is ridiculous. I overlooked something, big deal, everyone
does it. That should be the end of it. This has grown into the realm of
the personal between you two, and I realize I can't help that, but by
the same token, I'm not a noob, I've been here before, I know the
system. Everyone needs to chill the f**k out.
Thankyou for the help, that's what help is for, correct? If you are so
SET in your ways that you won't help someone out in the least, because
that someone managed to fall between the cracks by his own idiocy, on a
HELP forum, then there is something wrong with the way you view things.
I'm not antagonizing, I'm just saying maybe you had a bad day and we
should let things go at this. I suggest closing the thread.

dave and i are the best of friends, but not beyond arguing from time to time, you however are not in any position to say anything of note.
we will sort this out between ourselves.

we have butted heads before, very hard. we have something you obviously have missed since you arrived blue.. pay attention and learn. true friendship does not mean, blind faith in each other. Dave does s**t that annoys me often, i assume i annoy him still more often. our paths collided this time. we will survive.
when i said i will remember, it was not a grudge, it was in reference to our positions on assisting certain people only.
you, like rdaly have no say in our dispute. stay out of it.
