I TRY to compile my map with VRAD and VBSP and VVVIS and it freezes at
PortalFlow 0...1.. I let it sit the whole night and it didnt move.

Check your resource bar at the bottom left. You may have too many programs running in the background and it freezes your computer. Just a thought.

Do you have the browser and HL2 all open at the same time?
Sometimes that can really eat up the resources. I have a similar
hardware setup, and when I run all three simultaneuously, my machine
slows down too (but not to that degree).

It usually takes me just slightly longer to load up stuff than normal
when I run multiple programs. However, I have virtually nothing
else running (I've disabled my virus scanner in the background when I
edit maps).

What version of Windows do you have?
