I am making a giant scene with a bunch of antlions and a bunch of combine and striders. The player spawns in the middle of the battlefield in a glass box about 100 feet high. Is there a way that I can keep the npcs from just focusing on me?

You can use the command "notarget" and none of the AI will be able to see you, even if you attack them.

Open up the console, and enter the command "ai_disabled 1".
I haven't used the "notarget" command since the original Half-Life, and I am not sure it still works for HL2.

I think he wants to make this part of the single player level he's making, and isn't after a cheat/console command. Like Chrasher said, try the ai_relationship entity and make them neutral to you.
