I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a tutorial on how to
make a model? Also if anyone knows of a link to where to download Maya
5 or 6 please tell me.

The documentation for Maya4PLE has some of the best tutorials.

You can download maya 6 PLE from http://www.alias.com/eng/products-services/maya/maya_ple/index.shtml

On aliases website they appear to have a few tutorials.

Also in the maya dir there is a docs folder with some tut's and help stuff.
