You've used a model or prop texture on a brush, most likely. Don't do that.

It's not straight black though, it looks like black bricks, maybe you have another brush coming through? That would explain the only on some angles.

nope. that's a straight brick texture on it. maybe it belongs to a building prop?
and i should pick another texture and just hope it hasn't been build for a prop?

Look at the texture name - if it starts with "prop" or "model" you
shouldn't use it on a brush. (Bring up the texture brower and select
"only used textures" to see which ones you're using quickly).

What texture is it supposed to be? Try changing the texture is all I can think of, I'm not very experienced

Ive had a brush screw up for no good reason. Light wasnt acting as it should on it. I replaced the brush and it fixed it. Dunno if thatll help you or not though.

you're right. there is another, identical version of that texture, but isn't named "prop..."
I always thought at prop textures as all that separate pieces used for UV maps.
i'll pay more attention next time...

I think you can use prop textures fine cause im using some in my map and they work perfect its just modle textures which muck up.
