So, from what I have heard, and info_intermission is an external (3rd person/outside player) camera that appears to be activated at death -- the player's view switches to the camera after so many seconds if nothing happens. (I think).

What doesn't make sense is:

I've played several maps in which I could quite easily see my player model in the cutscene, but aren't I supposed to be dead if an info_intermission is in use? How come my player model isn't lying on the floor, in a dead pose?

I would simply like to know how to get 1 simply external camera (an info_intermission) to work. (turn on and turn off) And that is all :/

I usually manage to figure things out on my own, but I find this particular entity very confusing -- the entity has no name field, which is somewhat unusual for a Half-Life entity...

Any help would be much appreciated

I've got no idea about the info_intermission, but if you want a cutscene in-game, use a trigger_camera. I beleive its possible to trigger a camera with a special name, but I'm not sure.

What I'd like to know is what is the purpose of info_intermission? I think it could be to do with level transitions, but I'm not sure.

... except that specifically says it is for deathmatch games, and yet
apparently (see
http://www.snarkpit.net/forums.php?forum=3&topic=5054&3
where I asked a related question) it does not work in deathmatch
games. Which certainly has me confused!
