Okay, the deal is, all my sites before have been hosted sites (GameSpy, FileFront, or mods sponsored by an ISP such as Hypernia, etc), so I actually know very little about what a website requires in the way of data transfer, etc.
I am now sick of having to put peoples banners on my site, so I thought i'd break free of that, but I have no idea what I should be looking at.
I am planning a site for the Battlefield 2 community, map tutorials, forums, reviews, and of course my own portfolio, I have more experience in BF mapping than HL, and the BF community has really never had such a site, so I feel it is a worthy market gap to try to fill.
Anyway, I dont expect traffic to be as much as the SnarkPit, but after stealthily browsing this site for 2 or 3 years now, I figure maybe finding out how much data transfer this site uses per month may help me?
I dont plan on hosting any downloads.
I also understand, everytime AskJeeves, Google and email spiders trawl a forum site it puts a hefty dent in your limit?
I have been looking at a few 10 Gb data transfer plans, which are quite cheap in australia now, but after reading around I am not sure it will be enough?
Any help appreciated
