What information are you looking for? How to configure Hammer for singleplayer, or basic ideas for a singleplayer map?

If it's the latter, look through Valve's singleplayer help vmfs, they
can get you started on the basics. Also, frequent this site
often: there are many knowledgeable people here.

My recommendation? Start with a very simple map at first. Nothing more than a room with a SMG and a headcrab.

After you've gotten used to mapping and sort through the configuration issues, then elaborate on your mapping. If you start too fast with a complex map, you'll just end up frustrated and quitting.

i already know how to map, not very, good but still..

i just don't know where to start my own singleplayer,

my own game in the steam games list, and a singleplayer for that game.

maybe this is to much to ask for ^^

Load up the console, and type "map <your map name>". Make sure the BSP is copied into the HL2 directory after compiling. If not, you'll have to do it manually.

If the BSP is in the correct folder, the "map" command should bring up its name. Load up the map that way, and then save your game in one of the slots in HL2.

I am not aware of any way to load a custom map directly from the Steam menu.

thnx

so i just make a singleplayer, give the first map a name, and let the other maps be loaded threw level changes..

but for a singleplayer in the steam games list,

isn't it possible to create a mod similar to half-life 2, just with a different singeplayer under 'new game' ?

There might be a way, but I don't know how to do it. You might have to do some coding for it to happen.

of course. you just make a hl2 mod through steam and define the beginning map and chapters in a configuration file. I mean, it was still that simple in HL1.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

alst try to write a story for it, it's no fn running through a bunch of levels without a real goal and story line

it's good to make a story board, set up a good layout for what you want in witch levels and then start drawing it out alot etc.

this helps you improve the gameplay and fun factor greatly.
