Hey guys,

I havent played half-life 2 in a while so I started it up yesterday. What I found was that everything was SUPER shinny. The cobble roads looked like they were covered with plastic wrap and the water was so bright it looked like it was glowing. WTF happened? I'm wondering if steam changed my game or something. I turned off the HDR effects and I even deleted the local game content and re-downloaded and that didnt work.

Yeah, a lot of people have been getting this problem recently. Just force DX 8.1 instead of using DX 9.
