You don't want me to say what I really feel about this map. I
will pose a question instead. Have you ever been in a room that
remotely resembles this map?

Where are all the weapons?

Also I think you could reap dividends by dividing some of these walls into smaller sections - then you could apply different textures... it's all a bit grey?

I'll try and give some better feedback later on, but I just wanted to chime in with a bit more positive a response and say that I'm actually quite impressed. Don't take that too much to heart as there are a whole lot of issues painfully present in the screenshots, but some manage to show nice architectural ideas which is a step in the right direction. As I said I'll try and give some more specific feedback and suggestions later on, but I don't have time right at the minute.

I was probably a little too harsh-sounding. I looked at shot #6
first, and that one is probably the worst looking one. Very
killboxy. Shot #2 is pretty decent for a first timer.

Yup, that looks very OK for a first-time building on the HL1 engine!

Although it looks a bit... brrr... Halo-ish. Why do all console games use the same textures for every wall?
Why snark works.

As I said before, this is a big improvement then from when I last saw it. You do need to add more detail to the over all map and the lighting could be better. The weapon placement is very poor to, and replace the elevator with a gravity lift like those in halo.

And yes Jacob, where have I seen this 'style' before. You may as well lower the gravity to  .

Would you ever doubt it?

Yes, the map resembles Halo a lot I should say. So it must be alien as well; right? Seriously though, you should give purpose to this map. I'm guessing it just exists because it's alien, so we aren't supposed to understand its purpose?

Well, even beyond that theme, it's still possible to get passed that and make better known, and common reasons shine through. Why are the corridors so huge? What's with the falling water? Just things to think about (or answer in your next post). But it certainly doesn't seem original, if that's what you're going for...

Keep it up!
