I'll tell you right from the
beginning, I'm not a programmer. And the only thing I'm hoping to do is
to create an animated HL2 spray. Does anyone know if VTFEdit Tool can do that?
Thanks in advance guys : )

Thank you so much reaper47 :smile: I'll give it a try right away!

I did use Google too, but I didn't get that one. Instead, among others, I found this one:

Have a good one,

Thank you so much for the neat tutorial PP :smile:
But unfortunately my present problem is not addressed there :sad:
Which is to slow down the animation. I know it can be done because a friend that did my present animated spray did it before (like 3 years ago), but he can't recall how he did it :sad: . I started a thread at EditLife about it should you want to see what we have tried (and had not worked). It would be great if you could figure it out for all of us out there :smile:

Thanks in advance PP :smile:

Ah i see, unfortunatley thats a little advanced for me.

However 1 simple yet flawed technique that has worked for me has been to add extra frames to the animation,

but obviously we are limited by file size resrictions that i think the servers enforce, which puts pay to using resonable aspects thus affecting detail.

But it may be a work around for ya. :smile:

anyway good luck, im keen to see the answer.

The only thing i have come acroos like this was using a texturetoogle in a map i have been making. Below is the vmt, i dont know if this helps but im guessing there may be some similarity.

Pp :smile:

"LightmappedGeneric"

{

"$baseTexture" "www.aworkingpig.co.uk/KOD"

"$translucent" 1

"Proxies"

{ "ToggleTexture"

{ "toggleTextureVar" "$baseTexture"

"toggleTextureFrameNumVar" "$frame"

"toggleTextureShouldWrap" "0"

}

}

}
