I'm looking for any servers for HL1DM that play the vanilla maps. I run dialup so I can't use in-game downloads, but the main problem is that there's nothing in the list of internet games! Am I i supposed to add a master server or something? It's very frustrating and I just can't find one that works without an error!

Have you upgraded to Steam? The won master server for HL1 was taken down years ago.

Steam is free, plus you don't have to pay for HL1 if you already own it.

For Valve made games, you can add your existing game keys to your (free) steam account and access them through steam with all the updates they've made since. It requires that you download the game through their servers, though, so you would want to uninstall the retail copy of HL before doing that.

In any case, it does not cost you any extra money.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I can't download their version; I have dialup. It would probably run an internet game of half-life (seeing as how old it is) but it won't download anything bigger than 7 megabytes... and HL is like... 50 megabytes...

Is there just some IP I can plug into Half-life and play a few games with random people???
