I guess this is only of interest to Australians, but i know there's a fair few of you here...

Next Wave Independent Game Developers' Conference - Melbourne 2004<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

An independent game developers' conference will be held from the Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd of May this year at a venue in inner city <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Melbourne</st1:place></st1:City> as part of the Next Wave Festival. The conference is designed to cater for indy and DIY game developers, game modders and mappers, creatively frustrated professionals, game development students, animators, and digital artists from every state in <st1:country-region><st1:place>Australia</st1:place></st1:country-region>.

We hope to see a significant modding community presence at this conference. Whether you've got a mod/maps to show and talk about or you need to find some people for your team, or just want to learn/share skills this will be a good place to do it. We're hoping to have a LAN running throughout the conference for people to demo their multiplayer mods and maps and get some feedback from some fairly decent players. This is YOUR conference, so drop us a line and get involved.

6-7h isnt really that bad but getting to Melbourne where it will be cold and/or wet is...
