Ok, the new site can handle any new game or mod categories you would care to throw at it (some of you may have noticed the TF2 icon for instance). Site admins can add/edit/remove any of them from the control panel, but since I know how the system works I thought I'd ask ppl what might need doing in this area now the new site is up.

Firstly theres all the current stuff - are Call of Duty / Unreal really a big deal these days? There are also a couple of mods with no maps - HL > Hostile Intent, HL2 > Red Orchestra for example.

I would assume that there are a lot of new mods/games by now that you guys might be active with that it would be a good idea to add... so if anything needs doing please go ahead with suggestions. Remember this is your site and I know nothing about mapping, so if you don't say what needs adding then I can't do it!

Gwil etc might have their own ideas about all this, but I thought I'd just get the ball rolling while I'm about if anything needs doing.

Yes, I have a request!

-Could you add a new game category for 'Portal'?

-And a new Half-Life 2 mod called: 'Zombie Panic Source'?

-btw, I think the following mods should be moved from their MOD category to their own GAME category: 'Counter-Strike Source' 'Day of Defeat Source' and 'Deathmatch' should be sent to the game category and renamed as: 'Half-Life 2 Deathmatch' -just for name's sake.

Reasongin: While although the original Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat games were indeed Half-Life 1 mods, the Source versions of the games have been developed into their own stand-alone games that you can buy. So I think it would make sense to give them a 'Game' category status rather than keep them as extended mods of Half-Life 2.

And if you REALLY want to make SnarkPit look like it's on top of the mod scene, I can list you a butt-load of Source (Half-Life 2) multiplayer mods that I have and know people still play. Although, I suppose you would have to go find their logos somewhere for icons  -A daunting task indeed! Let me know if you're up for it, and I can write a list of em and give you links to their home pages.

I agree with RIVEN, If you dont want to add a catagory for each game, maybe just have a SOURCE cat.. and then include the CSS Zombie Mod, and the like under it, because Zombie mod is more based on CSS than on HL2. Also toss DOD Source in there, but keep HL2 and mods more related to it in its cat. Does that make sense?

Hey RIVEN hit us with a list man.. I am curious now what all is out there.

OK guys those things have been added/modified.

Let me know of any other games that could be moved into the "Source" category as I don't really know what is what unless it has "source" in the name.

Individual mods don't need icons, only the parent game categories, so adding a big list of mods is no problem whatsoever. Game icons just need to be 20x20 8bit .png or .gifs, with a transparent background for the edges if the logo ain't a square (none of them are right now).

Everything can be done from the control panel by site admins so hopefully it should be really easy to maintain... so this isn't a one-off thing, its just an overdue reorganisation. Should be easy to keep on top of any new games/mods from now on though.

[Edit: Fixed up some problems caused by editing which game a mod belongs to which I hadn't accounted for. ]

Ok, here we go; most of these I have on my HDD but have since uninstalled them. Although, I've checked all their sites and they all seem to be up-to-date, so I imagine these ones are still pretty active:

MULTIPLAYER MODS FOR HALF-LIFE 2: And that's all I can find for now. I'll add a 'Single Player' mod list some other day!
