As i've discovered:wtf:, some versions of TF2 are in "low violence" and it makes me ****.
Thats why i've searched on some forums and found this beautiful topic about the subject. They didn't find any ways to hack the GCF. It seams Steam uses kind of ID to recognise its files, the Tf2 low violence file. Here's the topic; I hope you guys will find a way to hack or to replace the file.
Violence Patch Tf2 Topic.
[Question/Request] Violence Patch Tf2
As you may have noticed, the german version of Tf2 is censored. You cannot see "funny" stuff like arms flying around if you bash one guy with the rocket launcher, this makes me sick !
So I heard there is a way to change the files of the low violence version into a high violence one. Has anyone of you experiences with that subject ?
It's always the same, games are release, and us the germans have to play the kindergarden ones, because some kind of jerk of the german gouvernment sais so. Iam an adult, I have the right to see and experience explicit content, no matter in what kind of visual media.
So please help me find a way to bypass/hack/destroy or however get pass the content blocker-thing.
I hope a few of you agree with me.

I would imagine setting steam's language to US english and using a proxy from USA when downloading the games would get you the Gore version. Find out the method they use to decide who to give the kindergarten version to and you can trick it before ever getting the game.

Nope, you're screwed. Especially if you live in Germany. Your IP is branded as "Deutsche Zensur Aktiviert". You can buy a British or otherwise foreign copy of the game and use it on your account, that should work. But once you see the "funny" censored version, it's over.
I've been trying to get HL1 uncensored, because I accidentally bought a German version of it. No luck. You can run a "mod" with different content in your game folder. But no chance to run it in multiplayer.
That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a working patch out there. All I can tell you is that, since the wonderful wonders of big brother Steam, anti-censorship patches are becoming a pain in the ass.
