I think i'm not the only one with this idea
its a mix of soccer and flipper.
A map for 2 teams with 2 goals and a steelball.
the only weapon is the physcannon combined with the ball.
each team tries to shoot the ball into the enemy goal to score.
The ball can not be picked up.
score 10 goals to win a round
There are catapults, spinning wheels and other things, that influence the ball
Cause this is only a map for HL2DM i can only offer a playground and not set every rule i'd like to.
This is a great map! and dont enlarge the goal, its perfect.
even wiht 2 players this map is good! there are servers wich run this map 24/7 and i enjoy this map a lot.
i rate this a 7. it looks ok but nothing special, its only a 7 gameplay wise, and i think you cant give a higher rate for gameplay!
next thing i would suggest is making the maps look better and making more so you can put up a rotation.
In my opinion, I would enlarge the goals some more in width, one person in front of it can keep the ball out easily and makes it (i think) more challenging. (I didn't see much goalies on servers, they will be needed)
Anyway, I play this a lot now and really hope you and other people will make more maps like this one.
i'm working for hours now on this map. the maintime just setting triggers right.
here's some info on my progress
bugs in this first version:
-only info_playerstarts = only 1 start position
-the scoreboard counts for the wrong team
-scoreboard won't reset
-some others
the 2nd version will contain:
-startpositions (dm_starts, fixed door sizes, ball can't be shot into start boxes) (done)
-scoreboard counts for the right team (done)
-scoreboard will be reset for new round (nearly done)
-3d sky (done)
-a lot more soundeffects (done)
-textmessages (for example which team scores/wins the round) (done)
-some texture changes/fixes (done)
and other changes
feel free to add suggestions
as soon as the scoreboard works perfect i'll release the second version

I'll certainly check this out. This is what a "fun" map should be.
