Yeh , lots of mods and even some companies look at sites liek snarkpit for new upcomming talent ( or so i hear.... )so posting maps like that realy isn't good for your reputation and also for the pits rep, usualy when i post a map these days ( witch is not very often. ) i realy plan it all out and try to have a nice section or 2 finished or near completion before i release it so i can get good critiques on it and that way improve it.
posting maps like this only envokes flaming and comments like 'blocky' or 'bad'.

Maps don't have to be "official" to be posted here. In fact, "official" usually means something that came from Valve directly, and I assume we all don't work for Valve.

But we expect mappers to put in a lot of planning and creativity when a map is posted here. A map that's put together in a day usually doesn't qualify as a well thought out map.

Take a look around the map vault, and you'll notice that the amateurish maps are all criticized as such. If you just want to make a map for your neighborhood LAN party, then perhaps you should keep it on your HDD.

At the SnarkPit, it's almost like a gallery where serious mappers want to show off their craft.

Im just doing a remake of cs_c0ck, which i doubt anyone played it so..uhh i think the map doesnt belong here...=\
Becuase as i said, its not an official map, so dont expect traps\doorways\inclosed areas and stuff, ITS JUST A REMAKE...
And what mostly took a long time to do is the explosion of that house, and effects and stuff...

The ligthing is very boring, also as traps said, it's jsut a box with some props and a wall around it.

i'm was going to say i'm glad you textured it right , but it's props, they already are textured.
This map is defenatly not completed

Did someone just scream 'prop-filled, bland, boring box with plain lighting, surrounded by poorly done displacements'?

Because if they didn't, I just did.

As a side note: do these maps need to be 'playtested'? I think common sense says that all maps with the layout of a box will play the same.
