I see nothing wrong if this is the result you were after when you began.
I also see nothing more noteworthy than a decently made Duke Nukem map either. Still not a bad thing considering how much fun I had playing and building maps for that engine.
What I would like to see is several shots with the r_speeds turned on.. (I assume this is the HL1 engine? If not then I'll settle for the FPS)
My only comment, and this one is superficial.. Your street layout looks like you took a bunch of cardboard boxes and lined them up flush with each other and painted buildings on them. Even cartoon buildings rarely line up so flush. Stagger them.

I still think it's rather cartoony lookin'
The sky in particular adds that effect -- it's one, big, flat, color.
Overall, it seems to be nice looking. I think the lighting is a bit too similar in too many areas (shadows don't look harsh enough in relation to the light, but that's just my lighting preference really)
The center of the streets looks a bit empty though. Once again: needs a bit more cover in my opinion.

I think the solution here Orph is really to stop trying to make the point in a roundabout way.
Say, "Like other people on this site, I am limited to a 56k connection.
Please take the time to ensure your screenshots are under 100kb in
filesize. This tutorial can help. Thanks"
