Wadincluding is a command option that works with the tools during compiling. It is best to use a frontend program to take the thinking out of the process. There is a tutorial here someplace on compiling. It has a section on this subject.

Try searching for it.

The commandline is something like this: -wadinclude "redhair.wad"

assuming you have that wad. I would suggest the frontend compiler.

[EDIT] Since you are new to the site, you may be overwhelmed by the pages you need to search from.

try this page first.

begin your search on the left hand side in "Tutorial" and subsection "newbies"

good luck.

I know a lot of online people from Sweden, they do not make fun like this. I am beginning to believe your handle should have been Red_Herring.

I believe you are making fun of me.

To include wads into the BSP you put the command line option "-wadinclude " then list the .wad files. You attach this argument to the csg compiler.

If you were using Hammer to compile, you'd goto the 'expert' compile mode (F9 >> Expert ... if you're already there it'll have "Normal" as the selection)

Click on csg in the left hand side, then add a parameter on the right hand text area.

Underdog is talking about using a pre-made-batch compiler front end interface. HLCC, is one of these. In HLCC, (tutorial here) has a check box you can click to instigate wadinclude and a text box for you to add all the wads you want to use.

If you're using just batchfiles, you'd do it the way I'm talking about, but in a text editor (tutorial on batch files here)

Let us know if you have any more problems

I wasn't intentionally being mean, but with the ghastly long load times for each page, I couldn't really search for him.

I linked him to the relevant page and didn't mark my suggestion as a possible answer since he was actually doing the work not I.

If someone with broadband could look up the tutorial for wadincluding using a frontend it would be appreciated.

Still, the misspelling of tutorial is suspicious.

[EDIT] Thanks Crono.

Zoners tools replace the old standard compile tools. That's independant of the suite or front end you're using.

I don't suggest using HLCC ... I mean ... you can but, it's much easier to just write a batch file.

I assumed you already had hammer up and running and it would compile you just wanted to know how to use wadinclude ...

But, I would, personally, suggest using the batchfile tutorial. However, it's all personal preference, they all do the same thing as compiling through hammer. The same compiler tools are called.

Try that.

crono, you do realise that he's just going to stare blankly at that for a few seconds before moving on, don't you? maybe even wonder for a couple of those seconds what it is that the compilers are called the same as.

I prefer a batch file compile myself but for someone this new, I would still recommend some sort of a frontend. Alternatively, F9 will suffice if he has enough ram I suppose.
