Why would we use Gabes copy to play HL2. Obvously you have to buy your own.

I actually thought that this character was a 'not so subtle' laugh at Gabe Newell. I mean, not to be stereotypical or crass but It sure looks like him.

Actually, all you have to do is all log in to the same Steam
account. I have Lan parties all the time. Just log into the
same account, install the games and then play LAN.

Obviously, this is what I intended. Since I only have the one disk, one can only assume that I logged in as me.
My router took care of the interaction between machines. I did nothing special.
