Vice City was an OK game on PS2, I wasnt addicted, but I could also stand playing it  .

Well, now thats greatly changed!

Recently, I found www.leviathanenterprises.com, and they basically MOD for VC for PC, and I was browsing there site, when I found..Moomapper. Basically, its the Vice City map editor! Been cracking away at it for an hour or so, it's not very flexable [Only allowed to move, rotate, add, and duplicate world objects, not create :S].

I just posted this here, because I think another 1-2 people are like me, and have wanted to see how GTA levels have been made for a looong time.

I'd rather play this game multiplayer:

Bah, GTA: VC should have come with multiplayer out of the box. That would have been the only way to redeem this failed opportunity to achieve videogame greatness.

It's a fantastic game, for the 10 hours or so before it gets boring :/ I don't understand how many people rate it as the best game ever on that.

You can't create new objects??? What kind of mapping utility is it. Mind you, the PS2 version of GTA:VC was very good, and I would expect the mapping process for it to be very complex indeed...User posted image

I think Vice City is a damn good game. Really fun to play. I love it, and I'm waiting for GTA 4.

Is there some sort of mission editor for VC? I would love to make my own missions! :grenade:

It's an amazing game if you din't play GTA3. For me, VC was my first taste of the engine, and since I remembered allot of the music, I thought it was a really great game. Most people who played GTA3 got bored of VC pretty quick because there isn't that much new.

I don't think it's because of a lack of new things. There's a ton of small stuff that's an improvement. The problem comes from the city design, which pales in comparison to 3, the missions which suck so much ass (boat races? plane checkpoint flying? toy helicopter bombing? motorcycle jumps? what the hell?), the stupid new police ability to arrest you from a moving car if you've lost your driver's-side door, etc etc.

The three worst things about the game are:
1. There is more focus in the missions on being on foot and entering buildings. Woopdie doo, the 3rd person part was always the weakest in GTA3, so they put more of it in the sequel...good idea. Hell, the final mission in the game didn't even involve a car at all, instead more indoor 3rd person fighting. Give me more car missions damnit!

2. The criminals drive in stupid patterns on the airport island. I actually think its a bug, because they get stuck in loops that go around one area. Plus, the focus is away from causing their cars to crash in expert collisions and more on getting out of the car to get them out of their car so you can run them over...blah...I would spend hours in GTA3's second island taking it to the criminals...here it's just no longer fun.

3. The map design. The islands are no fun to drive around, mainly because it takes so long to drive from one end to the other without much to do in-between. I thought the first two islands in GTA3 were geniusly designed, here...not so much.

And another thing: the story wasn't good. It completely falls apart once you start buying property. The ending was predictable, mainly because there were gigantic, glaring hints all throughout the second half. The characters weren't as well rounded or interesting as well when compared to GTA3. Even the final mission, which should give a vengeful sense of satisfaction, falls flat. (maybe because I did all the heavy killing with a point blank volley from the minigun? )

The motorcycles are sweet, however. As are the Apache and the tanks. And they did have the coolest musclecar ever in the Sabre Turbo.

Vice City is too flat. If I can't roll a car in ten seconds the game just isn't that great. Half the excitement (for me anyway) was running from my flaming vehicles after I wrecked them leaving the parking lot.

I love the motorcycles in VC. I think the aim in both GTAs is brutal, when I want to hit anyone within 10 feet of me I have to literally aim at the floor. Yet when shots should be hitting stuff they don't do anything. MTA:VC sucks without having random people around, just playing with other friends isn't the same as getting 4 friends with Choppers and cruising down the street with baseball bats & brass knuckles. Now that's a good time. There are a lot of glitchy parts in the game (Cars randomly flip or explode because they dropped off a curb, tons of collision hull goodies like falling through floors and walls etc.)

Actually yeah. On the PS2 version, you can drive a motorbike into the expensive club place, except you don't actually go inside the building, you are just... within the boundries of the building driving about on nothing.
