I just got an e-mail from game.net (I pre-ordered hl2 from them) & it had this info in it.

" As you may already be aware, the UK release date for 'Half Life 2' has changed to Nov-2003. "

Do the americans still get it sept30th I wonder or is this info incorrect?

Edit:

[03:09:03] [09:40:00] <twofold> Daz^Mapping, apparently the store date may be changed, but the "buy on steam" date will be sep30th
[03:09:03] [09:46:25] <Daz^Mapping> oic
[03:09:03] [09:46:28] <Daz^Mapping> :/

Gabe from valve still says the game will be released on September 30th.  And I believe that is the release date for everwhere.  I check at a halflife 2 website every day when I get up and that is the latest that I've heard.

HL2 sites are s**t, the only thing i check is Planethalflife.com, and thats just for new interviews. Korn he said it`d be released September 30th in France and londen too, so maybe it`s just the store...Maybe they were too late to order copies of HL2, and they gotta wait till they get some in.

when I went into Babbages (or was it EB?) last weekend they had changed the actual date on the pre-buy boxes to Nov or Dec as I recall (I'm in the US). usually those stores don't actually move back release dates unless they have solid info, they want you to think it's coming out soon to scare you into pre-ordering.

I'll be really surprised if it comes out on time. they just haven't shown enough of the game to convince me it's done. And I haven't seen even one pic of multiplayer stuff, what's with that? If it ships with no multiplayer, that would be total bullshit. As it is, it sounds like we'll be lucky to even get vanilla DM.

(Lep, can you move that "click here if you can't see the above form" thing someplace people are less likely to accidentally click on it? I lost several long posts on the old board from accidentally clicking it, it's really annoying that it is there. If you have the text form full to the end, and leave then come back to click in it, it's very easy to hit that link and delete your entire post!!)

aparently there now doing 3 types of the game 1 is just single player, 1 is single and multiplayer and the other is a collectors edition on a dvd.

oh and there selling it on steam as a one time by where you just pay the full price or you can subscribe and par about $10 US a month for the game and what ever mods or other games they bring out like TF2 or CS2

here's the forum tread its in on hl2.net

I for one will not be doing the subscription cos I ain paying $15 CAN a month just to play HL2 they can go bollocks with that idea

Maybe it'll be released on Steam first, as the delays could be with getting enough copies printed in time or something...

gimps... that stuff can't possibly be right...

I might also add that there is no way in HELL I would pay a monthly fee to play. that's total bullshit.

Lep: yes, I think so....? I get the neat form that I can alter and see the bold/colors/emoticons etc. right in it.

yeh I know I dont beleve it yet but they do have quite a lot of e-mails that are supposedly from Gabe Newell they even have a post that is supposedly him.

Its also not a pay to play thing its buying HL2 and any other game that VALVe makes for $10 a month but I still dont like the idea I'd rarther go to a shop and buy the disk that pay $10 a month for something I carnt hold in my hands

Well I read news that they date was mis-stated by the other publishers without going through Valve first...and Valve corrected them saying it was still on task for Sept. 30th. And then the original statement was retracted. (I think it was by Vivendi, but I'm not sure.)

I have no idea when it will be released, the creators are to busy with LAN-game testing I think, they forgot to release it.

Anyway, I saw this HL2 delay movie on planet halflife, even worse than the Gordon Freeman interview! JUst click on HL2 you'll see it then. It fun!
