First things first, don't tell me this is in the wrong forum!
I know it says "Maps go in the map forum" but unfortunately, that forum doesn't allow me post without having a beta map, which I don't...

So anywhos'
This is a map release. I'd like it if some people can give me a review. Thanks.

Map link:

btw, screenshots are taken from the most undetailed areas
you'll have to download to get the real experience.

If its possible, can you move this thread to the maps forum or something.. just don't hit the delete button.

You should be able to simply set this map to 99% and then you should be permitted to post... OR, you can simply wait for its being moved to "Maps"

Consider it moved!

Don't ask Orpheus, he's too busy driving those cliched yellow buses up
and down the United States of America  Certainly don't ask his travel
stories...

Compared to the postal service between my house and yours... ANYTHING would seem speedy. :heee:

On average, as long as there is a green name present, you can get things done in a timely fashion.

If it were possible, my internet connection is even worse than before..

I cannot stay logged on for very long.. And since this is my home, I tend to arrive here first.

I will try to obtain map tomorrow. I just got in from Idaho and am really tired... To tired to fight my internet tonight anyway.

What exactly are you after? A critique or...

The fact that you had the nerve to ask me to download an 11.8 meg zip speaks mounds for your confidence in your mapping.

I got sidetracked with the Stargate marathon today, which I recorded to my DVR last night.... Am looking at map now.

Stay tuned.

First off, I have no clue as to your familiarity with Snarkpit critiques. They tend to be brief and horribly tactless sometimes... Actually, their clear full of useful feedback but the majority of them will definitely startle the newer members who see them the first time.

This is your first, at least from yours truly. If you find it a bit brash, trust me, you'll get used to them.

Horror1

Overall, I found one thing difficult to accept. This map was ok, but it wasn't made by a veteran level editor. I mean that as no insult since I have absolutely no idea as to your experience level.

My point is, please spend more time here at Snarkpit and allow us to guide you to your peak. You have much room for advancement.

Also, bare in mind that I only touched on a few points because it is very difficult for me to do any serious critiquing now with 56k. Time was, I posted 25 or more images.

My apology for any disappointments for posting only 12.

Thanks for the very helpful review Orpheus, it's my first DMmap so your comments and suggestions helped me alot...<br style="color: white;">One thing I must say, is that the reason some ceilings and such lack detail, is because the lighting brought it out nicely.. another words its too dark in certain areas to make it detailed.. kinda pointless.. lol.. but ya, when you brightened the screenshots.. they all looked horrible :/ but anyways.. thanks for the comments, and my next map, I'll take them all into account.

I, uhh. I don't alter screenshots.... At least not often.

The brightness, or lack of dimness was as I viewed it. Perhaps my gamma/bright was set to high.. I dunno.

Anyway, there are ways of increasing depth, without lowering the light to achieve it. This way, you don't require everyone to have to set their gamma lower to get the feel that you intended them to have.

Next time, post your map before it reaches 100%. I bet we can make it a champion.

(I wish I had my DSL back... /crying)

I have no idea what you are talking about but, excepting for this thread, which you originally posted in the wrong forum, everything about your map is under your control.

You can alter it in your control panel.

Had you reposted this thread yourself, you'd even be able to control part of it too. But alas, you had it moved instead.
