I know this is HL1, but why are you using such an old editor? Where did you even hear of it?

Anyway, I assume you have the paths set up properly and that you have all the steps in your compile processes. My advice is to post your compile log and lets see whats amiss.

You really need to consider a more modern editor like QuArk or Hammer 3.5.

OK then, use HLCC instead.
Tutorial for HLCC.

Also, you need newer tools.

Don't listen to him (most of the time). The front end doesn't matter, the compilers do, however, and I'd strongly suggest getting the ZHLT compilers for Half-Life 1 (which are linked in Orph's post).

Get those, compile again, then post the log up here.

Chances are the batch file the front end is creating doesn't move the file when it's done compiling. We'll know when you post a compile log.
One more thing, if that's an example of the log that this thing gives you: use something else. Saying it ran the compiler isn't very useful without the dialog from the compiler.

There should be a file wherever HLCC is installed that stores the compile log. I don't personally use that front end, so I don't know where it stores it.

I would suggest using the "open a dialog window during compile" option on if it has it. Then, you could just copy the text from that (as it will be the compile log).

Also. You have the internet and google. Look it up.

Error: Could not open wad file \sierra\half-life\valve\halflife.wad
Check your paths. This error is causing the CSG compiler to not run. (thus there is no input for the other compilers)

I am confuzzled.

The only time that the tools cannot find the HL.wad is when they are not in the HL directory.

Where have you got your tools located? Put them in the "Valve" folder. (at least I think thats where. Been ages.

Point is, the tools automatically know to include the HL.wad. They just need to find them.
