Is there a way to have the sounds in my soundscape file only play during a triggered event?

I'm looking to make a thunder sound play at one of the several locations I've created in an open area, but only after the lightning flash I created with my logic_timer. So far, the limited amount of non-discontinued help on soundscapes hasn't made it appear that there's any way to link the two together. Am I missing something?

afaik, soundscapes play one of two ways. when they're visible to the player, or when the player is inside its radius. there's a setting in the soundscape to choose which one you want.

you might have more joy if you try your setup with an ambient_generic to play the sound..
