Well, what can I say? It is not even Christmas day yet I still arrive on this message board with yet another problem.

I believe this problem is with the Episode 2 graphics rather than textures. Recently I exported all of my Half-Life 2 maps over to Episode 2. I noticed an unusual purple and white square pattern on some of the texture surfaces. I constructed a test map for Episode 2. I added a light and all was fine. I then added a cubemap and build the cubemaps and the problem occured, albeit a scaled down version of it.

The reason I want to start mapping for Episode 2 is because I would like to make use of the new game content in it. Here are some pictures with the problem highlighted:
