A candle huh? Or have you decompiled the skull model and stuck the candle on top?

Looks good but a bit out of context right next to that skull model, looks more like something that should be in Team Fortress 2 rather than Half-life 2.

I would suggest making the transition between the candle base and the skull a bit better, you have sort of made the candle wax dripping down on the skull which is good, but I feel it needs more variation. This is something which could be done in the texture for the model I suppose, make the wax a fade out a bit ;).

Looks pretty good to me, maybe it's just the lighting you're using makes it seem a little less than it is, too bad you can't have a candle-flickering screenshot

Candle looks believable to me. If it's part of the skull as one whole model, the candle might benefit with a $envmap reflective parameter (very dull though). And just alpha mask the skull.

-BTW, if I were you, I'd release any future projects in this thread, so it makes it easy on the rest of us to follow what you've made in order. Since it looks like you'll be making many more awesome things in the future. -I know a lot of people do this for their 'works.'

Yeah, I was thinking about suggesting that to you :D. You and your wife seem to be making some quality stuff, might be cool to have them all in one forum thread.

I'll start a new thread and call it Muhnay Models, that way you all can see the stuff we have made up to date.

That is a good idea.. we talked about doing that on top of the candle where there should be hot wax..

Oh I should mention I did not make the skull.. we used the one from the game.. but we can make a new skull model if that would be more genuine. We made the candle on top.. we also have some candle sets.. I was wondering should we use a sprite for the flame.. because right now I am using the env_fire, set at size 2.
