my personal rating jumped up 2/10's of a point today, that in itself is nothing special, but the fact that it split 49 different ways is pretty amazing..

to those involved.. thanx, just thought you'd like to know.

the sad part is, to be #1 at profile hits either signifies greatness, or an aptitude to being a prick.. i doubt i am the first choice, so the honor of #1, at least from my perspective, only reminds me of myself...

somehow, it cheats those who deserve the position IMO.

i can name quite a few who deserve the distinction of being great.

Does the rating on someone's maps effect the rating on that person?

no, it dosent, but it does affect snarkmarks

iv being rated by someone, and iv done nothing but float around the forms.

well if your maps are rated low, it gives you less snarkmarks, if they are rated high, it gives more. If they are rated low often, it gives less (but in more quantity). If they are rated high often, it give more (in more quantity).

So someone with a single high rating might get less snarkmarks than a guy with many low ratings...

Make better maps, get more snarkmarks. Simple :smile:

Rating. Its all about what people think of what you've done, as Leperous said when he showed us the formula for SMs

but can they reduce, like

300 SM ---> 295 SM

before the last system change that prevented it, i did indeed rate everyone i could a "3" (assuming you were new to the site, or didn't rate higher or lower for some past incidences), back then you didn't have to have maps in the profile to be elegable... IMO it was slightly better than now, but only cause of my definition as to the rating system in the first place..

either way, post a map, a test map will suffice, and you can be rated.

My profile is a very rarely visited area. My average seems to be one every odd day or so. Same with a small handful of ratings in comparison to how long I've been here :razz:

i have hardly been rated atall

not alot of people bother rating... I know for one I havent rated that many people. I think only 20.
