you opened a .MAP file didnt you.

This usually happends when you have invalid solids in your .RMF or lots of small brushes rotated at odd angles.

Check for these

This error only occurs as a result of working in the .map format. Use .rmf's, good sir.

He would have to have been, that issue only happens with .map formats from my knowledge...I've never heard of an .rmf doing that.

why? it, like zoners, forces you to map error free..

i only use front end compilers, these use the .map format to compile from, hence error free.. or as error free as the .map can make it..

don't curse the format, when it is the authors fault.

if the solid was removed, it was defective.. /end of story.

[edit] for the record, both blue answers are incorrect.. they need changed. [/edit]

I dont mean it for removing solids, but often times, when I make a complex light or solids, etc, it usualy puts gaps in them that dont appear in the .RMF format and that appear in the game.

by the way Orph, as far as I know, my answer is correct.

blue= i say again, i compile with frontends, the .map format is required to do so.. i have never heard that the .map format is in any way detrimental to compiling.

red=, yes it is, but not complete enuff to mark blue.. there are underlying reasons his map failed, it wasn't because of the format..

i suppose next, you are going to tell everyone i have diaper rash too? or that i am impotent, or possibly, i sit down to pee?

I can't say I appreciate the outburst of horribly big/bright writing recently. Anyway...

Nobody seems to have mentioned that getting a lot of invalid solids (138 counts as a lot) is what happens when you load a .map produced by a decompiler. If this is the case, you can fix the error by simply making a map from scratch like every other normal person does.

as i said, the blue answers are a bit premature IMO.. not wrong entirely, but not correct enuff to mark as blue :/

for the record, i am not interested in cheating anyone out of credit, i just want accuracy, or at least the best facsimile of it..

I've only ever got invalid solids from a decompiler... even working with .map files in teh hammre.

There seem to be 2 distinct threads here. One in normal text for the "sane" people, and the other in large brightly coloured text for llamas.

So what is wrong with those answers then, your highness, and what is the correct one? You usually get it from trying to load up a .MAP with dodgy solids, is all. And ffs stop talking about poo and grow up.

 Okay, map decompilers usually cause the problem, but it is still from working with .MAPs, I'm pretty sure I've had a few errors like that that haven't come from decompiling something... Maybe not quite as many invalid solids, but still.

ive only had that problem from 2 things:

1.a de-compiled map

and

2. a .map which has been compressed...e.g. a prefab
