The last couple seasons are not the best agreed. I guess they hoped bringing in the actors from Farscape might save it after Richard Dean anderson left the show full time but sadly not the case.
Vala was her name on the show I think.

I'm sorry, did Stargate SG-1 ever give off the sensation that it was realistic? Don't try to kid yourself, the show was already campy before Claudia Black and Ben Browder came on.

Well anyway I thought Babylon 5 and Farscape were much better anyway, though I enjoyed SG-1 from an entertainment standpoint.
Favorite episode was the O'neil, Tel'k groundhog day type sceanrio.

To me, the best show that never got a chance was Enterprise. It was getting really exciting and got cancelled.

I know that if they had just given it one more year it would have been ok. I bet it would still be on now. :(

Enterprise was just OK. The problem the show had was using it purely as a link between now and Star Trek TOS. Every episode was like, "oh this is how we invented this device that's a staple later on" sort of stuff.

THOUGH, I really like the episode from the standpoint of TNG, where they're looking back at stuff that happened through the holodeck. That was pretty sweet.

But ... at the end of the day, I don't think there was a good enough story there or a decent adventure. They really wrote themselves into a corner by making it a platform for linking us now to the 24th century stuff.

One of the reasons TNG is so good is they were able to expand the ideas laid forth in Star Trek ... but they weren't limited by it. It's kinda a shame that the only times they've ever gone forward were in that piece of trash Voyager.

I would like to see more covering the stuff they covered in the Star Trek 11 flick. I think it'd be neat.

One problem I had with Star Trek was a rehash of episode themes rewritten for every version of the show.
I think they were running out of ideas.

I started losing interest with TNG when every third episode took place in the holodeck.
Enterprise had no holodeck and was still at the time period where everything was mostly still an enemy to be fought. I feel most people were turned off by the intro song and couldn't judge the show on its own merits.

I still say Enterprise wasn't given its just dues.

I think most people don't like Scott Bakula :p

I actually agree that it should have gone longer ... but I also think the show runners shot themselves in the foot for the most part.

It wasn't bad it was just ... the first Star Trek series in ten years or something and was just OK.

I think it's an absolute crime that a show like Voyager got 7 seasons and a show like Enterprise got 3 ... but standards have gotten more strict for what shows last and what shows don't. A lot of really good shows have been cut off before their time.

Just recently Lie to Me and Human Target got the ax, two very good shows.

Sci Fi in general hasn't been "cool" in mainstream prime time TV for awhile. It only resurfaced in the last few years thanks to Battlestar Galactica, but most science fiction oriented shows don't fare so well. Combine that with Sci Fi Channel basically ditching Sci Fi ... and yeah ...

There was another really good show, Defying Gravity. Didn't even air the entire season. And it's an enormous cliff hanger, no chance of the rest being made, which is an enormous disappointment. But I suggest if you like Sci Fi TV you check it out. (it's a realistic perspective type show about the human race's first encounter)

I lost faith in the tv rating system when Firefly got canceled. That show was freakin great and lasted what? Just under 2 years?

and, I loved quantum leap. It was a cool beaners show.

Firefly only lasted 1 season..that's it. Stupid execs didn't think it would make it. Now look at the cult following like many others that got cancelled.

Hell, I go way back to old sci-fi that was good and got axed....

The Invaders
Space 1999
Lost in Space ......got really hokie no wonder it got cancelled but good at the begining.
The Time Tunnel
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
The Prisoner
Blake 7
A couple new ones I liked were:
Earth 2 and Odyssey 5
Scott Bakula had a good one with Quantum Leap don't really know what happened there.
Sci-fi channel has really turned it's back on sci-fi fans in general. Other than a few shows its turned into reality tv and wrestling. Shame on them.

Yeah Firefly was one season. Also they didn't show the episodes in order or ... you know the actual premiere showing the battle of Serenity.

Fox is a rather hostile network, it seems.

As for Sci Fi Channel, don't forget terrible B-horror movies. They even started a sister network (Chiller) to shovel some of that crap over. It's ridiculous.
