yeah i haven't mapped in SO long. Ok. i am making an NS map and i want the Join Marine thing to flicker, like a hologram, but i dont know how! i tried the additive thing but i guess thats for models only, as it looks retarded with what i am using. i really dont know what half the entities do, as i have never needed to use them. i dont even know if its possible..... i really wanted it to look different frrom the rest but oh well!

The new site is an improvement over the last one, so it was certainly worth it. They will be back up in time no doubt.
To get a texture to flicker, set it as a "func_illusionary" (if you want to be able to run/shoot through it) or "func_wall" (if you want it to be solid), set the render mode to "additive" (no its not just for models), render amount to a number between 0 and 255 (the higher more visible it will be), and render fx to something like "flicker" (experiment to get the desired effect).

In time les monges, in time. I'm away so don't expect any of the old ones to appear again within the next 7 days though, unless Myrk wants to help me out with them.
