I was use to mapping for HL and CS when i t was pre-steam, and im confused on how to setup those games since now it is all steam, i dont know how to get my skybox to look custom made anymore since it used halflife folders, and how do i get texture lighting working again on steam setup? plz help me with both.

I kept my old installation and use that for mapping, but here is a tutorial that might be of use to you...

And if that one seems a little confusing. Look at my 'full' one.

Both of them note on how you extract things from GCF folders to use (such as wads).

Also, the set up of the folders in steam (under you email address directory) allow you to customize items, since steam/hl will check there first before looking in the GCF files. (Thus you can use texture lights).

The actual way you do most everything is the same though.
