The book that NationStates is based on, Jennifer Government, is quite a good read too.

I was going to buy that book the other day. I was in WH Smith, and I saw it on the shelf at the front of the store. I was tempted to get it simply because of it's relation to NationStates.

I got bored of that game very quickly, there's not much to it except deciding between stupid decisions once a day. What's the point when you can play Civ?!

The site loads very very slowly for me, which even ruins the decision making.

It's a political simulation game xconspirisist, kinda gets boring after a while unless you have a deep interest in politics.. even then the "daily issues" start to repeat after a while.
If you're into the whole geek-text-roleplay thing and like politics, you'll like it. Otherwise I just wouldn't bother. Apparently there is a second version due sometime in the future with "proper" implementations of war, trade, treaties etc... The navigation is fine as well, once you've "played" it for 5 minutes
And yes, there is no point to this when there is Civilization.. yum yum.

I played it for a while until I was only getting about 5% new questions, then it just sucked.
