did you dig that up from email, Orph? looks suspiciously like one of those hotmail "OMG EXTERNAL LINK ALERT!" messages...
either way it doesn't work as a site
Your email message has been idle and this link has become inactive. To access the link, close this window and return to your Message. Then click the browser's Refresh button or close your message and reopen it.And the Firefox window has that doofy little MSN butterfly along the title bar as well

i am totally ignorant, but i was sent this</A> link ages ago, when i wanted to set up a server for my clan..
maybe it will help?? if not, i am sorry for wasting your time..

First off, I'll probably be accessing it through windows machines. So the server has to be telnet, and not ssh. And telnet would involve broadcasting my password in plaintext over a CS department network (half of which is probably running ethereal and/or nmap). doesnt seem like a good idea.
There's a difference though. Lep isn't using a premade database set up.
And it's incredibly easy to just connect to a server through an ftp client or a shell and edit away.

I mean, if someone wants to put content on a page, he shouldn't have to worry with learning a whole new scripting language. I've never used one, but considering how easy it is to screw up with PHP and leave a gaping security hole, everyone's happier with a well made CMS.
Using premade panels and sites is ... annoying. I hate it when people use crap like PHPNuke, because they're too lazy to learn the language themselves, then get confused when they change something and the page dissappears (from them creating an invalid command).
