i'm getting the error

"Leaf (portal 1553) with too many portals. Use vbsp -glview to compile, then glview -portal -portalhighlight X to view the problem."

when i compile, when i run it with the -glview parameter, it comes up

** Executing...
** Command: -glview
** Parameters:
  • Could not execute the command:
-glview
  • Windows gave the error message:
"Access is denied."

the .bsp compiles correctly and is runable, but the vvis part fails to compile

-glview is the parameter you want to use with vbsp, not the command. I presume you're trying an expert compile, in which case just add it in VBSP's 'parameters' box on that screen.

Which way do you mean, because neither seem to work correctly for me - im sure im doing it completely wrong

also the same thing happens with bounce, it's either access denied. or if i put it in the normal compile window, nothing seems to happen

It goes in the "parameter" box on the right hand side there, NOT as a new command. I'll write a compiling guide and put it, have a look at that in a while.

Thanks for trying to help me leperous, but i still can't get my head around this glview thingy, whenever i try to run it it either doesn't seem to do anything or gives me a list of parameters which don't make a whole lot of sense to me. im sure its staring me in the face, but its bugging the hell out of me.

first i noticed the leaf problem was after i installed a projecter and used the project decal entity, i've since deleted it but im still having the problem.

I've updated my image to show the way i have the expert tab set up - thanks to your tutorial. could you please point me as to what i'm doing wrong now
