This really does seem like a n00b question, but how do you get the water mines like in the canals? They don't have to be dropped from a helicopter or anything, just resting in the water.

Hmm I got a bit confused, does the mine you want look like those
annoying ball enemies which follow you around and zap you?
npc_rollermine is probably it so.

I just thought that any "what entity does that" question would probably be simple, since it's mostly a matter of being familiar with what the different entities are. Anyway, I'm gonna test a roller mine, see if that works.

I think the ones Nano is talking about are the ones the helicopter drops on you alot, in groups of threes. They just fell in the water and then blew up a few seconds afterwards. I think they are more circular and have red circles on the ends.

I think atleast

Yeah, those are the ones...and the roller mines are denser than water, lol, so that's no good.

Is "combine_helicopter/helicopter_bomb01" what you're looking for?

Yep, that's exactly it...and I've even browsed through there, but not since I wanted to use the bombs. Doh. So I'm going to test those a bit now to figure out how to get them to work in the game.

For those of you who plan to use these in the future, the prop_physics work fine for these (I'm using prop_physics_multiplayer), but you need a couple settings tweaked first. Enable the "Break on Touch" flag, and disable the Debris flag! Silly me forgot the latter part...how are they going to Break on Touch if the player can't touch them? Anyway...I have another devious idea, and that's to start the mines out underwater with their Motion Disabled, and have a trigger_once that enabled motion on the mines. Surprise! Pop-up water mines. Fun stuff, unless you're the player

figured i would revive this since its on the same topic.

I'm trying to get the roller mines to be destroyable. I made sure the debris flag is unchecked(which it was by default anyway) as stated above for the helo mines and have tested with break on touch and break on pressure as well as different class info settings but i 'll be darned if i can destroy it.

Any help would be appreciated because I really wanted these in my map for a specific reason.

Have you tried just Break on Touch instead of both of the flags? ...and you have a number greater than 0 in the Health/Strength field?

in the game you can destroy them with enough force (rpg or grenade, not just water) so maybe look to it for help
