Ok, uh, let's see here
a) there are a LOT of textures
b) textures are used for so many different things, it's hard to say what a good texture is, without specifying, say, a category or something
c) some "bad" textures may look quite nice in the right situation
d) the quality/usefulness of a texture is very subjective

You didn't specify if you meant default textures from hl2 or custom textures.

"obviously" indeed. While he should be more specific, I'm guessing he's referring to stock textures...much easier to use anyway than custom texs.

I'm all about custom textures, but for my first HL2 map I'll probably stick to the stock stuff.
Certainly the HL2 texture selection is much better than the crap we got for HL1 lol
In terms of custom textures, though... I suspect 1024x1024 custom textures will be much harder to come by, so we really do need to share what info on them we can.
