Anyone know how to get that tunnel glare effect as seen in the buggy levels, or even more specifically useful to me, thos Combine citadel windows that are a pure white and glow like crazy.
To be more specific-
Buggy levels- in tunnels where theres bright light at the end which is all glaringly bright.
Combine windows- Those lazy rectangles of whiteness which are blindingly bright.

I'm not certain what effect you want in particular, but a lot of the glowy effects on lights are done with env_sprites. You can do a texture filter for sprite and look at the available ones.

I thought that but I think theres more to it, or something more severe. Plus the glow they use acts like sunlight on trees- it grows around objects in front.

Fewl, I mean the glowing that blinds you, anyway I think I've worked it out. I'm pretty sure you use an env_sun and make its distance really short and stuff, then use a few glowy things and flares. Although if anyone knows how its really done or a better way I'm still open to suggestions.

An env_sun is certainly quite blinding, and you can set the size of the
sun rather than the distance. You might wanna look at env_lightglow as
well, I've used them a fair bit in echo and find them quite effective.
Consider them a slightly more versatile replacement for env_glow.
