I've finally managed to get my light_spot's to work and now I have a
new problem. I also have a light_environment in the outside area of my
map with a different color of light. There is a portion of my room that
opens into the outdoors and when you get near to that area all the
indoor lighting disapears and it is suddenly bright as day inside. I'd
like for that not to happen, what do I do? I've tried using the block
light texture but I don't know if I should leave it as a brush or tie
it to an entity, and what entity?!

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, usually those "special textures" don't need to be attached to an entity. That could work...have you tried making an areaportal (areaportal entity+texture) that's "always open"?

Did you place light_environment outside
of your map? You shouldn't do that. Not only are you going
to get a leak error, but the entity wouldn't be rendered at all.

This doesn't seem to work, the light is better but most of my brushes dissapear when you're on the wrong side of it
