hey all

i placed some paintcans and sawblades in my map for the better throwing stuff :smile:

but the grav gun wont pick them up ? is that because i did something wrong ? or is it just not possible in hl2dm (yet) ?

funny thing is : when u shoot at the blades they do move so i think it`s the right prop type (prop_physics_multiplayer)

if anyone else has blades that u can pickup and throw away in their map can u plz tell me how to do that?

you make a entity called prop_physics_multiplayer and choose the saw in world model bit! it should then work but hl2dm doesnt have the code to make it so it chops heads off or paint comes out!

make sure you place it high off the ground so it doesnt get stuck!

i know how to place them :smile: , they show up in the compiled map 2 but the problem is that the grav_gun wont pick them up :/

there`s a flag for it : enable motion on pshycannon grab i put that one on but still dont work

i quess it`s what u said about the missing code for it

i just leave the blades in and maybe one day we can pick them up :smile:

No I think you just need to get the right prop entity. I've seen saw blades in multiplayer maps. There is no "code to chop off heads" as habboi says. Just Zombies have a headcrab head which is a seperate enemy.

Saw blades will work in HL2MP... Paint cans also but they don't make paint splatter. Pretty sure theres a paint can in lockdown, check the source map to see.

Yes they do work i played a small map where all the objects were sharp blades anyway maybe you should compile the sdk example and see if they work!

tnx for the tips , i got it now, they need to be prop_psychics and not prop_psychics_multiplayer

now lets hope valve enables head chopping etc.. :smile:
