i have 2 PC's, one win XP home, one win 2000 pro..
with my XP system the command line is "msconfig" to get into the edit for the system configuration utility.
but this command doesnt work with 2000.
neither does the old "mscfg" of win 98 lore..
does anyone know the command word for win 2000?
thanx in advance.

services.msc will (probably) come up with a screen that lets you disable some other programs msconfig won't, otherwise you'll have to open regedit and browse to HKLM- software- microsoft- windows- currentversion- run and delete anything in there you don't want.
BTW if anyone's interested in how to clear out 'useless' entries from msconfig's startup tab, just delete old keys from HKLM- software- microsoft- shared tools- msconfig- startupfolder (and startupreg)

You wil have to download msconfig. If you can't find it on the microsoft website then PM me and you can download it off me.
