Sounds neat - You could use a bit more detail (ie trash, etc) however.

Trash!? You fewlish CS mapper, trash is for lamers. What he needs is just to export them chess pieces to XSI and model them to make them look beautiful. Then he needs to cubemap up that chess board and make it a custom texture so it does perfect reflections like some of the water textures! Then it will be sweet. But seriously- try and model those chess pieces. Stick in some Benches here and there too (piranesi I think has some good benches you can use.)

I'm not going to put any trash throughout most of the level, it's supposed to be a somewhat pristine area. However, I put a considerable amount of junk in the little alleys on either side of the map.
Myrk- The chess board does have a cubemap on it, not sure how to make it reflect perfectly. I'd like to make the pieces look less blocky, but I have no experience modelling for HL2.

Well, de_chessyard is pretty much complete. I'm interested in hearing what people think about it.
Hopefully, you won't notice that some of the static props don't reflect in the water. If I could figure out why that is, I'd surely fix it. Unless there is some other major problem that I've somehow completely overlooked, this is the final release version of the map.

Its most likely due to your graphics settings and/or the water type you
have chosen - make sure you have your graphics water settings to
"reflect all".
Map looks like a pretty cool theme, but doesn't particularly stand out as anything amazing.
